 Part One: "The Enigma Code"

"GET WISDOM,

GET UNDERSTANDING:

FORGET IT NOT!"

(PROVERBS 4:5)

These two key words, "wisdom" and "understanding" both loom largely in a verse which is of enormous relevence to these end times in which we are living:

"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."

(Revelation 13:18)

Even if it is only through Hollywood's series of "Omen" movies, everyone has heard of the number 666. But hearing does not of itself impart wisdom, any more than overhearing a conversation in a foreign language makes one wise to what is being said! Understanding comes only with accurate translation, and such comes only with the recognition that we must first learn that language ourselves!

Knowledge is power. The Enemy loves the darkness; under the blanket of ignorance he draws up his plans and mobilises his forces against us. An absolute essential of any Army in any campaign is solid military intelligence: they must know what their Foe is about! And if the intercepted information is encrypted, the number one priority is to crack the code! Such was the case with the Nazis' famous "Enigma Code" of World War Two... and there is perhaps no greater enigma to decipher, or more ultimately depending upon its deciphering, than the meaning concealed within the number 666! 

Where then to start? Maybe most people would begin with the assumption that 666 is a number of the future, and as such defies proper interpretation in the present. Nothing could be further from the truth: 666 is a number whose star rises not in the future, or in the present, but in the far distant past! It was of enormous significance in what we might call today "the ancient mysteries"... the idolatrous and deeply pagan religious rites and belief systems that rose to prominence thousands of years ago in Egyptian and Babylonian culture.

And so it is way back in Babylon that our quest for understanding begins: not with the Revelation of John, but with the much earlier book of the prophet Daniel. As we shall see, certain aspects of the two works act like a pair of spiritual and historical bookends, which together support one of the most ominous warnings ever given to mankind, and one that we ignore at our eternal peril.

The Book of Daniel was penned around 537 B.C. at the time of the Babylonian exile, and contains some of the most amazing and far-reaching prophetic writings to be found in the entire Bible. In many ways it is the "Revelation" of the Old Testament, a point emphasised by its being the 27th. book of the Old just as Revelation is the 27th. of the New. Remarkably, the book itself states that its contents were time-locked:

"For the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end."

(Daniel 12:9)

The closed words of Daniel are now being opened, for it is indeed the time of the end! As one such seal crumbles, let us boldly enter into a new understanding of the 2,500 year-old story of Nebuchadnezzar and the huge golden image he demanded worship of... and why it is more than relevant to us today!

"NEBUCHADNEZZAR the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon."

(Daniel 3:1)

The story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and their steadfast refusal to bow down and worship Nebuchadnezzar's golden image has always stood as an outstanding testimony to the unwavering loyalty of truly righteous men to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 

It has also stood of course as a wonderful witness to Yahweh's reciprocal loyalty to His people, in saving them from the ferocious flames of the fiery furnace. As an object lesson in divine deliverance it is perhaps unequalled : if we are prepared to stand with Him, then He is prepared to stand with us!

In these last perilous days, it is something that we need to take to heart anew; Nebuchadnezzar's vile creation was but the forerunner of an even viler "image" to come, both being intimately connected with the mysterious number 666!

The Mathematics of the Monolith

We need to look closely at the dimensions of the golden image, for therein lies a sobering secret, a very clever cat just waiting to be let out of the bag! Converted to Imperial measurements the size of the statue works out as a whopping ninety feet high by nine feet wide, a veritable colossus which would have been visible for many miles across the Plain of Dura; however, the essence of its hidden message is instilled within its contemporary use of the cubit as the basic unit of measurement.

The Babylonians were the most advanced mathematicians in the ancient world. Rather than our familiar decimal (Base 10) system, they worked to the sexagesimal (Base 60) system. This was so adaptable for its division into fractions that it is still the method used for measuring time (60 seconds = 1 minute; 60 minutes = 1 hour) and geometric angles (a circle = 360 - i.e. 6x60 -degrees). The height of the image being determined as 60 cubits was therefore emphasising its "mathematical perfection."

But the real beauty (ugliness?) of the numbers used lay in its base-plan, or "footprint" as our American cousins would call it. The cream of Babylonian society, the Chaldeans, were not only mathematically astute, they were also the priestly caste to whom maths and religion were intrinsically intertwined; they would have been foremost in advancing Nebuchadnezzar's great project, and their esoteric signature may be discerned in the matrix formed by the measurements of the base-plan of the statue.

The total height being ten times that of the width, for the proportions of the sculpted figure to be correct it would have stood on a tall pedestal, much as in Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square; the appearance would have been something like the attempted reconstruction in the illustration above. The fact that Daniel only gives the width and not the depth is simply because it is not necessary to state the obvious: the base-plan is a square, 6 cubits x 6 cubits giving an area of 36 square cubits. What's the big deal about that, you might ask? The answer is... a very big deal indeed!

The Matrix Unmasked

Basically, if you draw a 6 x 6 grid and enter the individual numbers 1 - 36, then it is a simple and irrefutable mathematical fact that if you add all the numbers together they make a grand total of 666!

Having established that the image's "footprint in the sand" was a 666 matrix, the question is... why? Let us first look again at the image itself. Daniel specifies that it was a golden statue; the basic structure was probably crafted of bronze (possibly utilising metal recycled from the twin pillars and other items looted from the Temple in Jerusalem) and overlaid with gold. It must here be emphasised that the Bible assigns a specific number to gold, and that number is:

666!

"Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold."

(1 Kings 10:14)

For emphasis, the same statement is repeated in 2 Chronicles 9:13. That 666 should be associated with Solomon is not without significance, for Solomon slid into shameful idolatry and "his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel." (1 Kings 11:9).

IN THE OCCULT, GOLD IS "THE METAL OF THE SUN."

Although Daniel does not state the statue's identity, it seems reasonable to suggest that it was an image of Shamash, the Babylonian sun-god. There is a very specific link between the sun and the number 666, and to explore this we return to the 6 x 6 matrix as illustrated above. 

The Magic Square of the Sun

If we take the same 6 x 6 matrix, entered with the same 1-36 numerical series, the numbers can be re-arranged in such a way as to form a remarkable new matrix, an ingenious ordering of the series into an arrangement known as a "magic square." This is so-called because each line of numbers, horizontally and vertically (and also diagonally from corner to corner) adds to the same total.

Since the dawn of time, Magic Squares have been embraced and utilised by practitioners of the occult arts, each type being named for a celestial body. For example, a 3 x 3 matrix is called the Magic Square of Saturn; the 6 x 6 matrix with which we are particularly concerned is called the Magic Square of the Sun.

There is more than one way of arranging the 1-36 numerical series to form a Magic Square of the Sun. One such arrangement is illustrated below, and hails from the ancient Chinese city of Shaanxi, which also serves to show the spread of this mathematical/astrological knowledge from the Middle to the Far East.

The fact that each line totals 111, (and 6 x 111 = 666) is not without its own significance and symbolism; it is in fact an extremely important observation which we will return to in 666: Part 2.

A Foretaste of the Future

Nebuchadnezzar's image, and its 666 associations, finds its direct counterpart in a future "image" which also has 666 associations! In Revelation 13 we find that the Satanic "Elijah/John the Baptist" figure, commonly known as "the False Prophet" initiates the making of "an image to the beast" i.e. the Antichrist.

"And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."

(Revelation 13:15) 

Submission or death: exactly as Nebuchadnezzar demanded in his day! A great gulf of time, but the same stark choice; but what of this new abomination? The original image would have represented the pinnacle of craftsmanship for its time, and we can confidently expect that the Antichrist's "image" will also demonstrate state-of-the-art technology.

In the twenty-first century, the very machine you are using to read this article is such a technological pinnacle: modern life has become inconceivable without the computer and the whole attendant microchip revolution!  Computers and their associated systems will inevitably be hugely utilised by the Antichrist in his totalitarian regime!

The name of the game is control. Absolute control. And to allow for this to happen, the systems are rapidly being put into place before our very eyes! Mankind is on a fast road to ruin, and rather than being the means of his liberation, his technological advancement will in the end secure his ultimate enslavement.

Six Lines = 666

"No man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

(Revelation 13:17)

A massive milestone on the high-tech highway to Hell was established in 1973, with the creation of the Universal Product Code (UPC). This is the barcode system now used internationally on any merchandise you care to name. Consider the example below:

The first digit is the prefix; in this case the 3 identifies a drug/health item. The next grouping of numbers is the manufacturer's code, while the remainder constitutes the individual product code. Separating them are slightly longer lines known as guard bars.

You will note that the twin bars identifying a 6 are identical to the guard bars, save only for the length of the latter. It is clear then that every UPC carries in this way a "666" in the form of these six lines. Interestingly, application of the English  Gematria (A=6,B=12,C=18 etc.) yields:

Six lines = 666 

Load up your trolley/cart in any supermarket, and every item therein carries this imprint. Truly, already "no man can buy (as the customer) or sell (as the vendor), save he that had the mark." But this is only the foretaste of things to come, a prelude to the overture, you might say...

Chips With Everything!

"He causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads."

(Revelation 13:16)

Symbolically, to receive the mark in your forehead is to serve Satan in thought; to receive the mark in your hand is to serve him in deed! But there are very real physical implications also.

With all commodities encoded, it is of course only a matter of time before consumers are themselves encoded! In the headlong race towards a cashless society, where transactions are conducted by card and not by hard cash, the transfer of the card's information from a detached to an undetachable item is not very far off. Enter if you will the nightmare Orwellian world of the Verichip!

"The Verichip may be an extreme solution for extreme times, but the days it could be dismissed as futuristic fancy are clearly long past."

So what exactly is the Verichip? It is quite simply the first, and currently the only, human-implantable RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) microchip approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. A glass-encapsulated RFID tag about the size of a grain of rice, it is inserted beneath the skin of a human being to uniquely number and identify individuals.

Note that the mark is received in not on the hand or forehead. 

Prototypes for such a device go as far back as 1979. It is made by the Verichip Corporation, which is majority-owned by  Digital Angel, a leading developer of Global Positioning Satellite and RFID technology which for many years has been involved in the "pet" market. Via its subsidiary company Destron Fearing, millions of animals worldwide have now been RFID-tagged. As we all know, animal-testing always precedes use on humans...

Under the banner heading of "Safeguarding the World", Digital Angel boasts:

"In short, Digital Angel's products are used in innumerous ways around the world to safeguard those things we value most: our food supply, our natural resources and environment, and the well-being of those we love."

In this statement we can clearly see exactly how mankind will be deceived into accepting the mark: it will be in everyone's best interests! Once again, Satan the father of all lies masquerades as an angel of light!

Note well. If you have no implant, you have no number. If you have no number, you are not in the system. If you are not in the system, you are no-one. If you are no-one, you cannot buy or sell. Quite simply, you do not exist. End of story.

The Voice of Doom

Nebuchadnezzar's image was a man-made entity, just as is the contemporary computer. But the Apostle John foresaw that the latter-day "image" would actually speak, and surprise, surprise, for the first time in the history of the world, a man-made object can indeed speak of its own volition! Computers are already using artificial speech, translating text into audible voice.

"Synthesised speech is both a triumph of technology and the fruition of a very old dream...(but)...you don't have to be a cynic to imagine the darker uses of this technology."

("Discover" - online science magazine)

In the past, the occult art of ventriloquism was used to make an idol "talk". Not any more! The computer has its very own voice of doom... Oh, and yes, in the English Language Gematria, the words "computer" and "bio-implant" both carry a mathematical value of 666. Coincidence, or what?

The computer and bio-implant technology of today, with its truly terrifying capacity for the unprecedented subjection of the entire human race, was directly foreshadowed by the lofty metal monolith shining in the Babylonian desert sun all those years ago.The implications are unchanged; submission or death: it is the lord of this world's grim ultimatum.

But it is emphatically not a blind alley for man. The God who created him in His image does not leave him without hope. That hope is, as it has always been, the Lord Jesus Christ. His salvation is real: trust Him, and Him alone!
